1922 Ruggles Fire Pumper
The 1922 Ruggles Fire Pumper was purchased by the Haileybury Fire Department in 1923, immediately after the Great Fire. It was the first mechanized fire pumper to come to Northern Ontario and quite possibly the only one of its kind.
When the Ruggles arrived in town, it was driven around so people could hear the siren and recognize the alarm. It was used as a working fire engine up until the late 1950s and was decommissioned after over 30 years of service.
You can visit the Ruggles at the Haileybury Heritage museum, where it is on display.
